Kentron Construction Trusted Services

We crush and test 100% of our aggregates to confirm compliance with BC MOTI, MMCD, and CSA specifications. We source 100% of our asphaltic cement, Portland cement, and admixtures from Tier One suppliers. We operate our own testing lab at our plant. Our fleet of equipment is fully maintained and annually inspected. We train our employees on equipment operation and on material science. Our concrete plant is certified by Concrete BC, and our asphalt plant has been accredited and awarded the Diamond Commendation by the National Asphalt Paving Association. All to ensure our products meet our client, CSA, and BC MOTI specifications. All because our quality matters- to us and to your project.

Ready Mix Concrete

Kentron started concrete production in Kitimat in 2012, supplying to the Rio Tinto Alcan Kitimat Modernization Project. We have proven expertise delivering concrete to the highest specification under demanding conditions.

Asphalt Paving

Asphalt paving is our core business. Kentron Construction completes dozens of projects annually for a variety of public and private clients, all with the same focus on quality and client satisfaction. No job too big or too small, we can- and will- pave it all.

Aggregate Hauling and Supply

Kentron Construction delivers aggregates and asphalt throughout our service area.

Custom Crushing

Concrete Pumping

Testing Lab Services

Kentron Construction has a complete CCIL accredited concrete and aggregate testing lab at our plant in Kitimat. The focus of this lab is on our own internal testing for process and Quality Control, but we are happy to help with your testing needs.

Concrete Products

Standard Concrete Mix Designs

Our standard mix designs are available in varying specifications for strength (15 MPa, 20 MPa, 25 MPa, 30 MPa, 32 MPa, 35 MPa) and aggregate size, as well as exposure class and other properties.

High Specification Mix Designs

Our High Specification mix designs have the enhanced properties required for challenging applications. From very high strength concrete (up to 70 MPa), to large volume mass pours, corrosion protection, shotcrete and to many other specific material and performance properties, our mix designs can be tailored to meet your unique project needs.

Performance Mix Designs

Our Performance Mix designs have been developed to ideally suit specific applications:

  • Self Compacting Concrete: With very high flow characteristics, rapid placement, and no requirement for manual finishing to create a smooth and attractive finish, SCC is ideally suited for large horizontal slabs.
  • ICF Form Mix: This mix was created specifically for Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) wall construction and other formwork with dense rebar or tight passages. It is characterized by excellent flow properties and requires virtually no vibration to create a smooth and attractive finish that is free of voids.
  • Low Density Fill: An economical, low-density specialty mix for filling open excavations, this mix design has lower density, lower strength, and excellent flow and consolidation properties.
  • Green concrete: We can optimize our mix designs for increased ratings required for LEED building construction.
    Premium Exposed: This premium specialty mix is designed for exposed aggregate finishing, offering an optimal finished appearance.

Standard Hot Mix Asphalt

We produce hot mix asphalt mix designs to customer specification. Call us to discuss your projects needs.

Eco-friendly Asphalt

As responsible corporate citizens, we are always looking to reduce our energy consumption and our carbon footprint. Warm-mix asphalt is an innovation that enables us to reduce energy consumption in production while delivering a product with superior application and weathering properties. To further reduce materials consumption, we offer mix designs with high Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP) content.

High Specification Mix Designs

Some projects have special requirements that cannot be met by typical asphalt mixes. Service life, climatic conditions, wheel loading, frictional requirements, and other performance requirements can call for engineered mix designs and high performance polymer-modified binders. Our laboratory can develop high specification mix designs and alternate, cost effective mix designs meeting your requirements. Let us know what you need, we can make it happen.

We crush our aggregates to specification for internal and external use. We sell a large variety of aggregate products, including the following:
